William Browning is a journalist who has written true stories from across the entirety of the United States—the American West, the East Coast, the Great Plains and his native South. His work has appeared in The Oxford American, Country Roads, Smithsonian Magazine, The Paris Review Daily, Guideposts Magazine, Columbia Journalism Review and other regional and national publications.
The recipient of the Mississippi Arts Commission’s 2022 Literary Artist Fellowship for Non-Fiction, William is currently at work on a biography of a Mississippi civil rights era journalist.
