Ep. 6: A New View of the Mystery

Not long after a jury in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, acquitted Venie Jones of murder in the death of Hansel Batten, the MIssissippi Supreme Court reversed Tom Jones’ murder conviction in the same case. Prosecutors immediately tried Tom for muder again. That second trial, though, did not go as authorities planned, and no one was ever sent to prison for Hansel’s death. Now—almost a century later—has another suspect been identified?
