Ep. 3: The Bootleggers

The investigation into Hansel Batten’s death revealed that, as a local newspaper reporter, he had recently written several stories about bootleggers in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Their names were Tom and Venie Jones, and not long after Hansel’s body was discovered on Hattiesburg railroad tracks, they left the state. But did that mean they were guilty? Authorities felt it did. A private investigator, though, was not so sure.
